Peer to Peer Lending

  • YouDo

Harmoney, the first peer to peer lender in New Zealand was founded by Neil Roberts in 2001 with bold ambitions and a game-changing vision: to turn lending upside down by introducing a marketplace finance model that changes the way Kiwis think about money, for good.

Business Challenge

Online Peer to Peer Lending Platform

Contesting traditional way of investing and borrowing money is not an easy challenge to overcome. However, Harmoney believed they could bring the change with the technology to minimise the cost of financial intermediation, and passing the benefits to customers. Therefore they looked for a modern technology to build transparent, two-sided marketplace in a scalable and robust digital platform.

Solution

API Layer to Support Data Flow

Harmoney engaged YouDo to help build their new digital platform. During the engagement, YouDo worked with Harmoney to improve their prototype bringing their digital platform to life.

YouDo helped develop a scalable and secure web application to provide a transparent platform to both lenders and borrowers to invest and borrow money online.

Today, Harmoney is a marketplace that matches people who want to borrow money, with those who want to lend money.
